实验室主任张海江教授近期在<<Pure and Applied Geophysics>>国际期刊在线发表了“Joint Inversion of Body-Wave Arrival Times and Surface-Wave Dispersion for Three-Dimensional Seismic Structure Around SAFOD”的文章。该研究发展了地震体波和面波数据联合地震成像算法并用于美国加州SAFOD钻井附近San Andreas断层成像。编辑认为新提出的联合成像方法是同类型中的第一个，对将来同类的研究提供了一个很好的基础参考。（“The joint inversion presented in the paper is the first of its kind, …, will provide a better basic reference for future works.”) 随着地震台站布设密度的提高和地震噪声成像技术的广泛应用，在很多地区存在地震体波走时和面波频散数据。利用两种数据对地下结构的不同敏感度，可以更准确地对地下介质成像。
